Our Story

The Beginning of Luna
Luna Bakery & Café was founded in June 2011 by pastry chef Bridget Thibeault of Flour Girl in the Cedar Fairmount District of Cleveland Heights. The small corner space in a historic building was the perfect spot for a cozy European-style pastry shop & café, influenced by both local ingredients and community spirit. The neighborhood quickly embraced Luna, leading to two expansions by 2016 that doubled seating while maintaining the relaxed, chic atmosphere that customers love.
Growth & Locations

Moreland Hills
2018
Our second café opened, offering the same warm service, scratch-made pastries, and coffee. Guests especially love our gluten-free options, including gluten-free crêpes and our signature crêpe cake.

Production Facility
2021
To meet growing demand for our cafés, custom cakes, and wholesale business, we opened a bright, spacious production kitchen. Here, we craft everything from hand-decorated sugar cookies and delicate French macarons to the croissants baked fresh daily in our cafés.

Downtown Cleveland
2023
Our third café opened in the historic Western Reserve Building on W. 9th Street. With its classic, cozy atmosphere, it has become a go-to destination for morning coffee, business lunches, and fresh catering.
What We're Known For
At Luna, everything is made from scratch with care. Guests join us for fresh croissants, artisan pastries, and custom cakes as well as a full menu of fresh soups, salads, paninis, grain bowls, crêpes, and egg dishes. Whether it’s a quick coffee, a leisurely brunch, or a catered office lunch, our food is crafted to bring comfort, creativity, and quality to every visit.

Our Team & Values
Luna’s reputation has been built not only on food, but on people. Our bakers, baristas, and café staff bring Luna’s core values to life every day: Above & Beyond Experience—creating moments that exceed expectations,
Creative & Curious—always improving and innovating, and Genuine Thoughtfulness—showing kindness, care, and humility toward our customers, team, and community.
Community & Giving Back
As proud members of Cleveland Independents, we are committed to strengthening the local restaurant community and supporting Cleveland’s neighborhoods. Giving back has always been a natural part of Luna’s story. We regularly run round-up donations at checkout to benefit charities, organizations, and individuals, and provide gift card donations to schools and fundraisers across the region. These efforts are possible thanks to the generosity of our customers and our team’s shared commitment to making a difference.

Looking Ahead
From a small neighborhood café to three thriving locations and a growing production kitchen, Luna has always stayed true to its roots—scratch-made food, genuine hospitality, and community connection. We look forward to continuing to grow, serve, and sweeten the moments that matter most.
